It's the season of joy and togetherness. However, preparing for holiday activities can be stressful, especially for a family living with Huntington's disease (HD). Below are 5 tips to help reduce stress for HD families during the holidays.

1 TALK ABOUT HD
To better prepare distant relatives for holiday visits, be candid about your family situation and explain your loved one's current condition.1,2

2 IT'S OKAY TO SAY "NO"
Recognize your limits and set boundaries.3 If asked to take on additional responsibilities or activities, it's okay to decline.

3 ACCEPT HELP
When family and friends offer to help with chores, errands, or other activities, accept their kindness.3

4 KEEP IT SIMPLE
More intimate, less formal gatherings may be more enjoyable and less stressful for your entire family.1,2

5 CELEBRATE TOGETHER
Continue your holiday traditions and create new memories together.2
