 Focusing on RET in cancer:

RET fusions can drive tumor growth in NSCLC1,2

In NSCLC, several different genomic alterations, including EGFR, ALK, ROS1, NTRK, and BRAF, have been shown to promote cancer growth and define distinct molecular subgroups.1,2 RET gene fusions can also act as a primary oncogenic driver in NSCLC.1,2

Frequency: ~2% in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)

RET fusions are found in approximately 2% of NSCLC.1,3,4

With the emergence of many different biomarkers in NSCLC requiring molecular testing, it’s important to consider transitioning from single biomarker testing to tissue-efficient next-generation sequencing (NGS) methods.5

If an NGS test is not accessible, talk to a pathologist about alternative molecular testing options, including FISH and reverse-transcription PCR.6
